Interview with Janet Keeler
For 21st-century chefs, a social media presence is practically as important as a good set of knives. With nearly 50,000 followers on Instagram,Lazarus Lynch is at the top of his game in the kitchen and online, being a two-time Food Network Chopped champion and host of Snapchat’s first cooking show, Chopped U, and the Food Network’s digital series, Comfort Nation.
His cookbook, Son of a Southern Chef, is part love letter to his late father and part celebration of soul, spirit and style. Laz’s smashing Instagram account illustrates his love of food and fashion; and the cookbook drips with the same colorful, modern vibe. In a conversation with The Zest’s contributor Janet Keeler, Laz gives the behind-the-scenes story of the cookbook’s recipes and over-the-top fashion photo shoots.
“One of the things I wanted to celebrate in the book is authenticity,”
